Smartphone Photography Course - Sydney

Smartphone Photography Workshop for Locals & Tourists - The Rocks & Sydney Harbour

Due to popular demand for SignaturePhoto’s successful iPhone Photography Workshop that has been running for past 8 years, this smartphone photography course is for both iPhone and Android camera phone users (iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel). Learn how to use your smartphone camera to it’s full potential to capture and create high quality images. Basic photography composition techniques (close-up, blur, cropping, focus, exposure), storytelling and lighting are also key to better image-making on your smartphone camera.
The advance in technology in smartphone cameras in the past couple of years has greatly improved the image resolution quality; enabling you to capture (and quickly edit with quality photo apps) amazing photos on your phone ‘on the go’. Having this fab small camera always with you, ensures you capture those spontaneous moments as well as high quality photos. Being able to easily upload images within minutes of shooting to social media and sharing with friends is another benefit of smartphone cameras!

Workshop outline: While the latest model smartphones have improved image resolution quality, capturing great photos (as opposed to just snaps) on your smartphone still lies with the photographer. It requires an understanding of focus and exposure control; composition of an image and best lighting; how to control depth of field (blurring backgrounds) on your smartphone camera; the best settings for shooting still subjects and moving subjects; travel, street, architecture, landscapes, food, portraits, family, action and business photos; photographic storytelling techniques, and how to ensure your images are sharp.

On this workshop you will learn tips for all of these key elements for improving your smartphone picture-taking as well as tips on quickly enhancing and editing your images on your phone using a recommended (free) photo app.
